About
Erin Tyler is a process-based artist working primarily with acrylic paint. In her practice she often relies on grid structures to act as a container for experimentation and chance. The grid also serve as a connection point to needlepoint, quilting, and mosaic arts which are practices common to her ancestors. Erin’s current work explores her identity in relationship to her ancestors by engaging with a family quilt. She photographs, digitally manipulates, and translates images of the quilt into paint allowing for layers of change to occur throughout the process.
